SCRANTON — A recruiting and employment services company is suing David Coleman, a former recruiter, citing alleged breach of contract, breach of duty and unfair competition for taking confidential information.

Berks & Beyond Employment Services Inc. and Elwood Staffing Services Inc. filed a complaint on Feb. 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against Coleman alleging that the defendant sent confidential information from his work email to his personal email. Coleman worked at Berks & Beyond's Carlisle location.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that, in February 2017, they sustained damages to their companies from having confidential information regarding their business misappropriated. The plaintiffs hold Coleman responsible because he allegedly sent email attachments containing confidential information regarding plaintiff's clients and business secrets to his personal email, a violation of his employment agreement.

The plaintiffs seek damages, injunctive relief, the return of all documents and copies of information relating to the plaintiffs' business, court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by James F. Glunt and Maria Greco Danaher of Ogletree Deakins in Pittsburgh.
