PHILADELPHIA — A Bucks County couple are suing Monogram Custom Homes and Pools; Sharp Energy Inc.; Dreisbach Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning & Excavating; and Norton McMurray Manufacturing Company, alleging the companies are liable for a fire stemming from faulty installation of a heated swimming pool.

Ahmet and Betul Kaymak of Chalfont, individually and as guardians for their four minor children, filed a complaint on Feb. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants alleging that a heated swimming pool on the plaintiff's property was responsible for a Sept. 16, 2016 explosion and fire that caused property damage, including to an automobile, and psychological distress.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs, who are citizens of Turkey, allege that they sustained damages to their property. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to make sure that the heated pool was properly installed, including the propane supply to the heater of the pool.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $1,000,000 plus delay damages and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Daniel J. de Luca of de Luca Levine LLC in Blue Bell.
