Alkemy X, production company, allegedly fired man for complaint against failure to pay overtime

Wrongful term 07

PHILADELPHIA — A former employee is suing Alkemy X Inc. f/k/a Shooters Inc., a production company, and its CEO Justin B. Wineburgh, citing alleged retaliation, unpaid wages, violation of applicable minimum wage law, violation of Workers' Compensation acts and wrongful termination.

Matthew Burres filed a complaint on March 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the production and design company alleging that it failed to compensate the plaintiff for his overtime work.

According to the complaint, Burres, who was employed as an editor, alleges that he sustained damages from not being paid overtime wages. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly retaliated against the plaintiff by terminating his employment for complaining about not being paid any overtime.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid compensation, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Jeffrey F. Campolongo of the Law Office of Jeffrey F. Campolongo in Bala Cynwyd.
