WWE production company says eight internet users illegally shared its movie "Eliminators"

Wire

PHILADELPHIA — A subsidiary of World Wrestling Entertainment is suing eight unknown internet users, citing alleged copyright infringement for illegally sharing a movie.

WWE Studios Finance Corp., a California-based production company that creates content for the wrestling organization, filed a complaint on April 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants alleging that they made unauthorized copies of plaintiff's movie Eliminators using BitTorrent software.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it sustained damages from having its content distributed over the peer-to-peer network without its permission. The plaintiff holds the eight individuals responsible because they allegedly shared the plaintiff's content with other users using the torrent software.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendants and order them to deliver for destruction all infringing copies of plaintiff's programming, as well as statutory damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Charles Thomas and Lee M. Herman of Creative Rights Law Group PLLC in Media.
