PITTSBURGH — A Monessen man is suing Life Insurance Company of North America, citing alleged breach of contract for discontinuing his disability benefits.
William Hanna filed a complaint on April 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against the defendant alleging that the insurance company denied plaintiff's claim for disability benefits.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was damaged from having his disability benefits denied despite being diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic spondylarthropathy and not being able to work at his job at RBS Citizens Financial Group. The plaintiff holds Life Insurance Company of North America responsible because it allegedly denied further payments of plaintiff's disability benefits based on its review, the findings of which the plaintiff disputes.
The plaintiff seeks recovery of benefits due to the plaintiff, enforcement of plaintiff's long-term disability benefits, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Lawrence R. Chaban of Alpern Schubert P.C. in Pittsburgh.
