PITTSBURGH — A man is suing The Hartford, an insurance company, citing alleged breach of contract for denying disability benefits he says he's entitled to.
Louis C. Decroo filed a complaint on April 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against The Hartford alleging that the insurance company denied plaintiff's claim for disability benefits.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was damaged from having his disability benefits terminated after 24 months. The plaintiff holds The Hartford responsible because it allegedly denied further payment to the plaintiff for his disability benefits based on its claim that he no longer met the definition of disabled, which the plaintiff disputes. The plaintiff was employed by PPG Industries until 2001, and his benefits began in 2003 until being terminated 24 months later.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court plus court costs and interest. He is represented by Max Petrunya of Robert Peirce & Associates P.C. in Pittsburgh.
