Former Macy's employee says Prudential wrongly cut off disability benefits

Insurance 01

PITTSBURGH — A former Macy's sales associate is suing Prudential Insurance Company of America, citing alleged breach of contract for denying her long-term disability benefits.

Cynthia Moore filed a complaint on April 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Prudential alleging that the insurance company wrongly denied plaintiff's claim for disability benefits despite the fact she claims she has been unable to work since 2013.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was damaged from having her disability benefits denied. The plaintiff holds Prudential responsible because the defendant allegedly refused to pay ongoing benefits to the plaintiff based on its claim that she no longer meets the definition of disabled, which the plaintiff disputes.

The plaintiff seeks all due relief, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Brian Patrick Bronson of QuatriniRafferty P.C. in Greensburg.
