Equitrust sues to restrain potential beneficiaries from making competing claims

Contract 04

PHILADELPHIA — An insurance company is suing Marie Chagnon; Amo's Adventure Limited a/k/a Amo's Adventure LLC; The Russian Orthodox Independent Congregation and Church of St. Nicholas a/k/a St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church; and St. Michael and Archangel Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Church, alleging that the parties, which are making competing life insurance claims to a payout, are opening it up to liability.

Equitrust Life Insurance Company filed a complaint on May 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants alleging that their competing claims for the payout of the policy of Mary DeMeo, deceased, wrongly open it up to liability from the parties.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it sustained damages from receiving the competing claims.

The plaintiff seeks orders restraining the defendants and discharging the plaintiff from all liability, as well as court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Brian T. Feeney, Gregory T. Sturges and Bradly A. Nankerville of Greenberg Traurig LLP in Philadelphia.
