SCRANTON — An employee is suing Norfolk Southern Railway Company, alleging negligence and that insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Francis L. Bardo filed a complaint on May 30 in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against Norfolk Southern alleging that it failed to provide a reasonably safe working environment for its employees, including plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he sustained serious physical injuries including trauma to his spine, neck and nerves through repetitive trauma while working for Norfolk Southern. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because it allegedly failed to provide adequate safety equipment to the plaintiff during his employment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $150,000. He is represented by Voci R. Bennett of Keller & Goggin P.C. in Philadelphia.
