PITTSBURGH — A California corporation is suing Diamond Kinetics Inc. and PPG Technologies Inc., citing alleged patent infringement regarding motion capture technology.

Blast Motion Inc. filed a complaint on June 5 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh Division, against the defendants alleging that they manufactured and sold products that infringe the plaintiff's patents.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Blast Motion was damaged from having its patented design copied without its consent. The plaintiff holds Diamond Kinetics and PPG Technologies responsible because the defendants allegedly sold a product called “SwingTracker Sensor” that infringes plaintiff's patents for motion tracking and data analytics technology.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks injunction against the defendant, motion damages, lost profits, treble damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. It is represented by James C. Yoon of Wilson, Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto, California.
