PHILADELPHIA — An employee is suing National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) and Paul Roddy with claims that his supervisor, Roddy, physically assaulted him and caused him to be transferred from his job.

Joseph Donnelly filed a complaint on June 12 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants alleging that they failed to provide a reasonably safe workplace to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was injured when Roddy made contact with him during a disagreement. The plaintiff holds Amtrak and Roddy responsible because the defendants allegedly retaliated against the plaintiff's reporting the incident by eliminating his position and causing him to be transferred within the company.

The plaintiff seeks all remedies, reinstatement, interest, compensatory damages, special damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by James M. Duckworth of Keller & Goggin P.C. in Philadelphia.
