PHILADELPHIA — A Utah bank is suing two Canadian corporations over an alleged breach of contract involving a helicopter lease.

Bank of Utah, in its capacity as a trustee, filed a complaint on June 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against 8348898 Canada Inc. and Airmedic Inc., alleging that the two foreign corporations defaulted on their lease.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Bank of Utah was financially harmed due to the unpaid lease. The plaintiff holds 8348898 Canada Inc and Airmedic Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly refused to pay the legal fees due to the Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Field LLP.

The plaintiff seeks damages not less than $3,059,280 and to enjoin the defendant. The bank is also seeking court costs and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Michael S. Hino and Kate A. Mahoney of Pepper Hamilton LLP in Philadelphia.
