Pennsylvania business sues former employee

Contract 10

PHILADELPHIA — A Pennsylvania business is suing Brandy Anderton, also known as Brandy Reader and Brandy Heimbigner, a former employee, citing alleged breach of contract and unfair competition.

Ricoh USA Inc. filed a complaint on June 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Anderton, alleging that the former employee misappropriated the plaintiff's trade secrets during her employment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Ricoh USA Inc. sustained damages to its business as the result of its trade secrets being stolen. The plaintiff holds Anderton responsible because the defendant allegedly breached her contractual agreement with the plaintiff by failing to return confidential information when she left the company.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks injunctive relief, an admonishment of the defendant, compensatory damages, exemplary and/ or punitive damages, treble damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Thomas T. Loder, Shannon Hampton and Luke P. McLoughlin of Duane Morris LLP in Philadelphia.
