Pennsylvania firm sues Hong Kong company over copyright

PHILADELPHIA — A Pennsylvania corporation is suing Vinnie's International Hong Kong Custom Tailors, citing alleged copyright infringement.

Graphics Styles/ Styles International LLC filed a complaint on June 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the Hong Kong firm, alleging that the foreign company used the plaintiff's clothing styles.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Graphics Styles/ Styles International LLC sustained damages to its business after its clothing designs were copied and reproduced. The plaintiff holds Vinnie's International Hong Kong Custom Tailors responsible because the defendant allegedly displayed on its website several of the plaintiff's men's fashion clothing styles copied directly from the plaintiff's stylebooks.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks general, special, actual and statutory damages, disgorgement of profits, court costs and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Michael J. Brooks of Michael J. Brooks, Attorney at Law, in Doylestown, Penn..
