Patient accuses Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, others of not taking measures to prevent pressure sores

PHILADELPHIA — A patient is suing several medical providers for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent her from developing pressure sores.  

Amber Campos has named 14 defendants in her case, including Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, Julia Stevenson M.D., Guthrie Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine, Guthrie Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Farokh Samimi M.D., Guthrie Medical Group of Pennsylvania P.C., Guthrie Clinic Ltd., Guthrie Medical Group P.C., Guthrie Clinic, Guthrie Clinics Group Practice Partnership L.L.P., Guthrie Health, Guthrie Health Plan Inc., Guthrie Healthcare System and Guthrie Specialty Physicians P.C.

Campos filed the complaint on June 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendants failed to provide her with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she experienced pain from having developed pressure sores and other wounds that required surgery. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to provide her with adequate supervision and assistance in order to prevent the development of pressure sores.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for compensatory, consequential and special damages, medical expenses and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by David B. Sherman of Solomon, Sherman & Gabay in Philadelphia.
