Prudential accused of wrongfully denying disability benefits

PHILADELPHIA — An individual is suing the Prudential Insurance Company of America,citing alleged breach of contract.

Marilyn Rioboli filed a complaint on June 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendant refused to pay her claim for benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was damaged from having her benefits denied despite being disabled. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly denying her long-term disability benefits based on its claim that the plaintiff does not satisfy the definition of having a long-term disability under the plan.

The plaintiff seeks payment of all benefits, court costs, interest and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Mary LeMieux-Fillery of Martin Law in Philadelphia.
