PHILADELPHIA — A policyholder is suing Mutual of Omaha Life Insurance Co, alleging breach of contract and failure to provide long-term disability payments.

Giovanna Reichard filed a complaint on June 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Mutual of Omaha Life Insurance, alleging that the insurance company refused to pay benefits to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was financially harmed from having her disability benefits denied. The plaintiff holds Mutual of Omaha Life Insurance responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated the plaintiff's disability benefits while she was still disabled.

The plaintiff seeks to require the defendant to pay long-term disability benefits, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Alan H. Casper of Alan H. Casper in Philadelphia.
