SCRANTON – A Forty Fort man alleges that a debt collector unlawfully disclosed an alleged debt to a third party.

Jeffrey Slavish filed a complaint on July 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against Central Credit Services LLC alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in July 2016, the defendant called his mother regarding the plaintiff's alleged debt to American Express. He alleges that the defendant contacted him the same day and left a voicemail message.

The plaintiff holds Central Credit Services LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly discussed with the plaintiff's mother his debt without his consent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $75,000 plus punitive damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Michael P. Forbes of Law Office of Michael P. Forbes PC in Wayne.
