PITTSBURGH – A Butler man alleges he has been injured by exposure to silica dust.

Steven J. Fish filed a complaint in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against RJ Repco Inc., RPB Safety LLC, et al. alleging breach of warranty, negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he developed cellular silicosis as a result of being exposed to silica dust and sand products. The suit states that he had been employed as a sandblaster by Custom Application Specialists prior to the diagnosis and used a Nova 2000 hood/mask. The suit states the mask was manufactured, marketed and distributed by the defendants.

The plaintiff alleges that the Nova 2000 mask failed to prevent his prolonged inhalation exposure to silica dust.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court plus court costs, interest and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Peter D. Friday and Jesse A. Drumm of Friday & Cox LLC in Pittsburgh.
