Man alleges Life Insurance Co. of North America wrongfully denied claim for benefits

Insurance 01

PHILADELPHIA – A Bangor man alleges his claim for long-term disability benefits was unlawfully denied.

Rohn Renna filed a complaint on July 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Life Insurance Co. of North America alleging violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he ceased working due to his disability and made a claim for benefits in June 2015 but was denied that October. The plaintiff holds Life Insurance Co. of North America responsible because the defendant allegedly upheld its decision to deny plaintiff's claim for benefits despite having sufficient medical proof.

The plaintiff seeks payment of disability benefits, court costs, interest and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Mary LeMieux-Fillery of Martin Law in Philadelphia.
