Former COFCO office worker seeks allegedly unpaid overtime wages

Law money 01

PHILADELPHIA – A former employee of a Philadelphia commercial office furniture dealership alleges she is owed unpaid overtime wages.

Kelli Bowen filed a complaint on Aug. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against COFCO alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act and the Pennsylvania Wage Payment Collection Law.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by the defendant from February 2016 to July 2017 as a full-time office worker. She alleges she worked approximately 50 hours per week.

The plaintiff holds COFCO responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay her a rate of time-and-one-half of her regular rate of pay for hours worked beyond 40 per workweek.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for all hours and overtime hours due to the plaintiff, liquidated damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by David Cedar, Gerald J. Williams and Samuel Abloeser of Williams Cedar LLC in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
