Range Resources Corp. alleged to have improperly classified consultants as contractors

Oildrill 01

PITTSBURGH – A former drilling consultant for a Canonsburg oil and natural gas company allege he is owed unpaid overtime wages.

Daryl Seagraves filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on Aug. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh Division against Range Resources Corp. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he and other similar employees worked 12 hours a day, seven days a week and were improperly classified as independent contractors.

The plaintiff holds Range Resources Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay overtime wages to the plaintiff for working more than 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all unpaid wages, liquidated damages, penalty damages, court costs, interest, and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Joshua P. Geist of Goodrich & Geist PC in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
