MCS Industries Inc. alleges ShopRite sold mirrors that infringed on its patents

Patents 03

PHILADELPHIA – An Easton corporation alleges that a retail store operator infringed on one of its patented mirror designs.

MCS Industries Inc. filed a complaint on Aug. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against ShopRite Supermarkets Inc. and Wakefern Food Corp. alleging patent infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff owns several patents regarding over-the-door mirrors and hanging apparatuses. The plaintiff holds ShopRite Supermarkets Inc. and Wakefern Food Corp. responsible because the defendants allegedly copied plaintiff's patented over-the-door mirror product and sold them at a lower price in their stores.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks permanent injunction, damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. It is represented by Gavin P. Lentz and Anton Kaminsky of Bochetto & Lentz PC in Philadelphia.
