Amtrak employee seeks more than $150,000 over alleged injury caused by tossed book

PHILADELPHIA – A Media woman alleges she was injured during her employment with Amtrak when another employee threw a book at her.

Christine Cylc filed a complaint on Aug. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against National Railroad Passenger Corp. (Amtrak) and Archileen Ayo-Davis, also known as Carmina Ayo-Davis alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff and defendant Ayo-Davis were employed by Amtrak as T&E Crew Dispatchers. The suit states that on Dec. 22, 2013, the plaintiff asked Ayo-Davis to pass her a book, but instead the defendant threw it at plaintiff. The plaintiff alleges she injured her shoulder when she reacted to stop the book from striking her.

The plaintiff requests seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds $150,000. She is represented by Brian M. Maggio of Kenneth R. Schuster & Associates PC in Media.
