U.S. Water Services alleges former employee is unlawfully soliciting customers

PHILADELPHIA – A Lititz man is alleged to have breached his contract with his former employer.

U.S. Water Services Inc. filed a complaint on Aug. 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Charles T. Smith alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the defendant's employment with the plaintiff was terminated on March 8. The plaintiff alleges that the defendant had signed an employment agreement that contained nonsolicitation and nondisclosure of confidential information covenants.

The plaintiff holds Smith responsible because the defendant allegedly breached his contractual agreement by soliciting plaintiff's customers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $75,000, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. It is represented by David S. Fryman and Noah Goodman of Ballard Spahr LLP in Philadelphia.
