ERIE – A registered broker dealer and investment advisory firm alleges two former employees residing in Kenderell and Pittsburgh took confidential information after their resignation and have disclosed it to others.

Citizens Securities Inc. filed a complaint on Aug. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Joseph J. Betten Jr. and Derek J. Podolak alleging breach of contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the defendants breached their employment agreement by soliciting its clients and by taking confidential information after they resigned in July.

The plaintiff holds Betten Jr. and Podolak responsible because the defendants allegedly have caused or will cause financial harm to the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks injunction against the defendants, court costs and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Gregory T. Sturges of Greenberg Traurig LLP in Philadelphia.
