PHILADELPHIA - A Schwenksville man alleges the herbicide Roundup is dangerous to human health.
Frederick Johnson filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania July 21 against Monsanto Co., alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he developed non-Hodgkin's lymphoma as a result of using the defendant's Roundup and its ingredient glyphosate.
The plaintiff holds Monsanto responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to exercise ordinary care in the designing and researching of the product when it knew or should have known it created a risk of dangerous side effects.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, economic damages, punitive and exemplary damages, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Michael A. Cancelliere Jr. and Michael A. Rowe of Nass Cancelliere Brenner in Philadelphia.
