SCRANTON – A Texas author alleges that his work was infringed on by a Wilkes-Barre college and an Easton man on Twitter.
Keith F. Bell, Ph.D. filed a complaint on Sept. 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against the King's College and Jeffery Knarr alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff wrote a book in 1981 titled "Winning isn't Normal," which has been copyrighted. The suit states that Knarr, the head football coach at King's College, posted a textual representation of a page of Bell's book on his Twitter account in November 2015, which was a retweet of a post by Northeastern State University's baseball team. Bell alleges this was done without his authorization.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants declaring that the defendants have infringed plaintiff's exclusive rights, damages and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Gerry J. Elman of Elman Technology Law P.C. in Media.
