PHILADELPHIA — A Southampton-based company is suing a Thailand-based company, citing alleged copyright infringement.
Graphic Styles/Styles International LLC filed a complaint Oct. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Nick's International Boutique House, alleging it copied the plaintiff's artistic drawings and graphic representations without consent.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges it has suffered damages from having its original designs for men's and women's clothing styles copied. The plaintiff holds Nick's International Boutique House responsible because it allegedly reproduced and displayed on their website copies of the plaintiff's graphic representations for men's and women's clothing.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks declaration that the defendant infringed on the plaintiff's copyright and harmed its business reputation; payment for general, special, actual and statutory damages, disgorgement of profits and enhanced statutory damages; an order for the defendant to immediately desist all infringing activities; court costs and any further relief this court grants.
