PHILADELPHIA — An individual is suing a credit union and credit-reporting agencies, citing alleged breach of duty and violation of civil rights.
Jarrell R. Cisneros filed a complaint Oct. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Sun East Federal Credit Union, Transunion LLC and Experian Information Solutions Inc. and Equifax Credit Information Services Inc., alleging they improperly reported the status of the plaintiff's account.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he sustained damages to his credit score, causing credit to be denied, loss of opportunity to receive credit and higher interest rates as the result of inaccurate reporting on his credit. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly re-investigate the plaintiff's account and did not properly tag plaintiff's account even after they received the notice that it in dispute.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, punitive damages, statutory damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Michael P. Forbes of Law Office of Michael P. Forbes PC in Wayne.
