Medical malpractice 05

READING – A New Jersey resident alleges her decedent's aortic aneurysm was not diagnosed prior to its rupture.

Kimberly Kisella, individually and as executrix of the estate of Nicholas Kisella, filed a complaint on Oct. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Philip J. Cinelli, D.O.; LVPG Family Medicine-Bangor, also known as Bangor Medical Center Inc.; et al. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the decedent was under the care of Cinelli in March 2015 when he presented to Cinelli with complaints of low back pain. The suit states the decedent also saw Cinelli in October 2015. The decedent was found unresponsive at his home on Oct. 28, 2015, the suit states, and the cause of death was determined as cardiac tamponade due to a rupture of dissecting aortic aneurysm.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly diagnose Nicholas Kisella's condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual compensatory damages, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Jessica L. Rodio of Weiss & Paarz in Philadelphia.
