Former worker at Levittown hotel alleges he was terminated over overtime complaints

PHILADELPHIA – A Philadelphia man alleges he was terminated in retaliation over his complaints of not receiving overtime pay.

Gregory Kashow filed a complaint on Oct. 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against HR Penn LLC, doing business as Ramada Hotel; Jariwala & Co. LLC, doing business as Hammock Worldwide; et al. citing the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked as a food and beverage manager for the defendants at their Levittown Ramada Hotel was paid a flat rate of $650 per week regardless of how many hours he worked. He alleges he averaged 50-to-60-hour workweeks.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly terminated plaintiff's employment in October in retaliation for complaining and threatening to contact the Department of Labor for not being paid any overtime wages.

The plaintiff seeks compensation, reimbursement, payment of any and all benefits due to the plaintiff, all unpaid overtime compensation, salary, pay increases, bonuses, medical and other benefits, liquidated damages, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants.
