Woman alleges Roundup exposure caused lymphoma

Medical malpractice 09

PITTSBURGH – A McKees Rocks woman alleges that exposure to herbicide Roundup caused her injury.

Denise Mancini filed a complaint on Nov. 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Monsanto Co. alleging failure to warn and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was diagnosed with mantle cell lymphoma in 2016, which she alleges was caused by being frequently exposed to Roundup when she applied it to her parents' property and later to her own property.

The plaintiff holds Monsanto Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn the plaintiff regarding the potential harmful effects of being exposed to Roundup.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages that exceeds the jurisdictional amount, medical expenses and other economic damages, treble damages, court costs, and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Jason M. Schiffman and Daniel S. Schiffman of Schiffman Firm LLC in Pittsburgh.
