PHILADELPHIA – A Thornton man alleges rope he purchased at Home Depot for use for a zip line was defective.
Ryan Scott Kurzinsky filed a complaint on Nov. 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against The Home Depot and Home Depot U.S.A. Inc. alleging negligence and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 10, 2016, he was using an Everbilt uncoated cable wire rope and Petzl Tandem Speed Pully for zip lining. The suit states he suffered severe physical injuries while using the products, including multiple fractured vertebrae.
The plaintiff holds The Home Depot and Home Depot U.S.A. Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly equip the rope with appropriate safety devices and containers and failed to warn users of the dangers associated with the rope for use in recreational purposes.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $50,000. He is represented by Craig A. Falcone of Sacchetta & Falcone in Media.
