Birdsboro man alleges illness was caused by Roundup exposure

Medical malpractice 03

READING – A Birdsboro couple alleges exposure to herbicide Roundup caused the husband's illness.

John C. Kirsch and Renae L. Kirsch filed a complaint on Dec. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Monsanto Co. alleging negligent misrepresentation and/or fraud and other counts.

According to the complaint, John C. Kirsch was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia in December 2016 and alleges it was caused by exposure to Roundup. He alleges he or his parents used Roundup since the late 1970s until 2017.

The plaintiffs hold Monsanto Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn the plaintiffs regarding the potential harmful effects of being exposed to Roundup.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek awards for all medical expenses, lost earnings, interest, punitive damages, treble damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Daniel E.P. Bausher and Jeffrey D. Bukowski of Stevens & Lee in Reading.
