Man claims Aetna Life Insurance Co. wrongfully denied disability benefit claim

Insurance 09

PITTSBURGH – A Baden resident claims that his claim for disability benefits was wrongfully denied.

Joseph Parknavy filed a complaint on Dec. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Aetna Life Insurance Co. alleging that the insurance company denied plaintiff's claim for benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome and became disabled in January 2016. He alleges he applied for disability benefits but was denied by the defendant.

The plaintiff holds Aetna Life Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly upheld its decision to deny plaintiff's claim for benefits despite having medical records to support his claim.

The plaintiff seeks benefits due to him, enforcement of plaintiff's long-term disability rights, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Lawrence R. Chaban in Pittsburgh.
