Medical malpractice 05

PITTSBURGH – A Washington County couple alleges a clinic failed to diagnosis the wife's symptoms.

Danielle M. Burns and John R. Burns filed a complaint on Dec. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against United States of America alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Danielle M. Burns was under the care of the defendant's agents at Centerville Clinics, doing business as Washington Family Doctors. The suit states she went to Centerville Clinics on July 28, 2016, with complaints of right calf pain. She was later diagnosed in October 2016 with right common femoral vein thrombosis and was hospitalized.

The plaintiffs hold United States of America responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to recognize signs and symptoms of deep venous thrombosis on Danielle M. Burns.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $75,000 plus interest and court costs. They are represented by William D. Phillips and Laura D. Phillips of Phillips, Phillips & Smith-Delach PC in Washington.
