Insurance 09

PITTSBURGH – A New Castle woman alleges she is disabled and her claim for benefits was wrongfully denied.

Mary Estock filed a complaint on Dec. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Life Insurance Co. of North America citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she has been disabled as the result of lower back pain since 2015. The suit states she made a claim for disability benefits but was denied in February 2016.

The plaintiff holds Life Insurance Co. of North America responsible because the defendant denied her claim for long-term disability benefits despite her alleged entitlement to receive them.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $75,000 and court costs. She is represented by Joseph R. Bock of Joseph R. Bock Esq. in Sewickley.
