Florida man claims credit bureaus are reporting inaccurate information regarding credit history

Late 01

PHILADELPHIA – A Florida consumer alleges his credit report contains inaccurate information.

Michael Haas filed a complaint on Dec. 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Trans Union LLC, Experian Information Solutions Inc., Equifax Information Services LLC and Diversified Consultants Inc. citing the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendants have been reporting inaccurate statements and information relating to his credit history to third parties since August. He alleges he has disputed the information.

The plaintiff holds Trans Union LLC, Experian Information Solutions Inc., Equifax Information Services LLC and Diversified Consultants Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to correct the inaccurate information and failed to conduct a timely and reasonable investigation of his disputes.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages, punitive damages court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Mark D. Mailman and Geoffrey H. Baskerville of Francis & Mailman PC in Philadelphia.
