Woman claims Prudential did not provide full and fair review of disability benefits claim

Insurance 03

PITTSBURGH – A Jeannette woman alleges her claim for long-term disability benefits was wrongfully denied.

Diane P. Ray filed a complaint on Dec. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Prudential Insurance Co. of America citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in March 2016, she became disabled due to depression, fibromyalgia, chronic pain and other medical conditions and applied for disability benefits. The suit states she filed a claim for long-term disability benefits in March 2016 and was denied by the defendant.

The plaintiff holds Prudential Insurance Co. of America responsible because the defendant allegedly ignored medical evidence and did not conduct a full and fair review of her claim.

The plaintiff seeks an award providing her all relief to which she is entitled, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Brian Patrick Bronson of QuiatriniRafferty PC in Greensburg.
