EASTON – A Coatesville nurse alleges she was terminated from her job at a Christiana nursing home because she reported an alleged diversion of narcotics by a supervisor.
Erin Gilmore filed a complaint on Dec. 14, 2017, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Harrison Senior Living of Christiana LLC alleging retaliatory termination and wrongful discharge.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was terminated from employment with the defendant in June 2017 after she earlier reported to the police and to the defendant's corporate office that a supervisor who recently returned to work from substance abuse treatment was allegedly diverting narcotic medication from the facility. She also alleges the intermittent Family and Medical Leave Act leave she took to care for daughter also factored into her the reasons for her termination.
The plaintiff holds Harrison Senior Living of Christiana LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated plaintiff in retaliation for her good faith complaints of wrongdoing and for taking FMLA leave.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks reinstatement, compensatory damages, liquidated damages, special damages, punitive damages, court costs, interest and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Julie A. Uebler of Greenblatt, Pierce, Funt and Flores LLC in Philadelphia.
