BitTorrent user infringed dozens of adult motion pictures, Strike 3 Holdings claims

PHILADELPHIA – The owner of adult motion pictures alleges that its works were unlawfully distributed online by a BitTorrent user it claims it traced back to a court's district.

Strike 3 Holdings, LLC filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against John Doe subscriber assigned IP address 68.82.230.132 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendant has downloaded its motion pictures and distributed them on BitTorrent. It alleges the defendant infringed 46 movies and that the plaintiff used geolocation technology to trace the defendant's IP address to a physical location in the court's district.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendant from further infringing plaintiff's works, order the defendant to permanently delete all digital media files relating to the plaintiff's work, court costs, statutory damages and any further relief the court grants.
