PITTSBURGH – A Valencia woman alleges she was served a contaminated hamburger at a Pittsburgh McDonald's.
Lisa Zorn filed a complaint on Feb. 2 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against McDonald's Corp. USA LLC and operator Priscilla Foster alleging negligence and assault and battery.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 28, 2016, she went through the defendants' McKnight Road drive-thru and ordered a hamburger. She alleges she was given a burger that did not have meat and went back to complain. The suit states she was given another sandwich and that the second sandwich contained a substance believed to be spittle and floor debris, such as dirt and leaves.
The plaintiff holds McDonald's Corp. USA LLC and Foster responsible because the defendants allegedly served contaminated food to a paying customer and failing to train employees in the proper care of food products.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount not to exceed arbitration limits. She is represented by Thomas Shannon Barry of Thomas Shannon Barry in Pittsburgh.
