TMS International alleges former employee is interfering with current workers

Contract 03

PITTSBURGH – A Glassport company alleges a former employee residing in McKeesport has interfered with its business.

TMS International LLC filed a complaint on Feb. 20 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Eric Piersol alleging breach of contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, the defendant resigned from his position as vice president, information technology, business process information and chief information officer for the plaintiff in January. The plaintiff alleges the defendant "took affirmative actions to interfere with and/or attempt to disrupt the relationship between TMS employees, and by encouraging those employees to resign from their employment with TMS and to become employed with Pierso at his new employer, Plus Consulting," the suit states.

The plaintiff holds Piersol responsible because the defendant allegedly breached the covenant agreement he signed during his employment with the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages of more than $35,000, liquidated damages in the amount of $5,000 per breach, punitive damages, all profits, court costs and any further relief the court grants. It is represented by Cami L. Davis and Andrew J. Ruxton of Clark Hill PLC in Pittsburgh.
