SCRANTON — An individual is suing Ritz-Craft Corporation of PA a/k/a Ritz-Craft Custom Homes for allegedly violating the Family and Medical Leave Act.
David Hughes filed a complaint on March 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendant refused to restore his position upon his return from FMLA-protected leave.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he lost his job after he allegedly went on FMLA-protected leave due to allegedly having a serious medical condition. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly approving his request for FMLA leave and then refusing to reinstate him upon his return.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for compensatory damages, lost benefits and wages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Jeffrey C. Dohrmann of Rieders, Travis, Humphrey, Waters & Dohrmann in Williamsport, Pa.
