PHILADELPHIA — A man has filed a class-action lawsuit against Atlantic Recovery Solutions LLC and Does 1-10 for alleged violation of telephone harassment statutes.
Michael Scavo filed a complaint on March 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendants called him several times in an attempt to collect an alleged debt.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he received several collection calls on his cellular telephone and was charged for those incoming calls. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly using an automatic telephone dialing system to call him on his cellular telephone despite his request for them to stop.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks $500 in statutory damages, $1,500 for treble damages and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Cynthia Z. Levin of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman P.C. in King of Prussia, Pa.
