SCRANTON — A disabled woman is suing Bowhead Integrated Support Service LLC and UIC Government Services LLC for alleged disability discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination.

Diana Schall filed a complaint on April 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendants violated the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that after recovering from her knee replacement surgery in April 2016, her pay allegedly was decreased and she allegedly was assigned to more physically demanding work. She was terminated on Jan. 24, 2017 due to allegedly being unable to return to work without restrictions, which allegedly caused her to lose money, employment benefits and suffer non-economic damages. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to provide her with reasonable accommodation and for allegedly terminating her because of her disability.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and liquidated damages, plus interest, attorney's fees, costs and all further relief the court deems appropriate. She is represented by Stephen P. Gunther, Derrek W. Cummings, Larry A. Weisberg and Steve T. Mahan of McCarthy Weisberg Cummings PC in Harrisburg.
