PITTSBURGH — An individual is suing Dell Inc. for alleged gender discrimination and wrongful termination.

Marsha Cipollone filed a complaint on April 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendant violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was the only female on her team. She claims that she received no training for her new position and that her supervisors allegedly refused to introduce her to partners and customers, which allegedly affected her quota. However, male employees on her team allegedly received training and were introduced to customers and partners.

As a result, she allegedly failed to meet her quota, which caused her to be denied a transfer and eventually resulted in her being terminating from her position.

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly allowing male supervisors to be openly hostile toward a female employee and for allegedly failing to take action or conduct an investigation after allegedly receiving a complaint that she was being discriminated against because of her gender.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages available, including lost wages, front pay, compensatory and punitive damages, court costs, attorney fees, pre-judgment interest and any further relief that the court deems necessary and proper. She is represented by Sean L. Ruppert of Kraemer, Manes & Associates LLC in Pittsburgh.
