PHILADELPHIA — A individual is suing Paramount Equity Mortgage Inc. and Does 1-10 for allegedly violating telephone harassment statutes.

Carmella Price filed a complaint on April 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendants violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Pennsylvania Fair Credit Extension Uniformity Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she started receiving calls from the defendants in 2017 in an alleged attempt to solicit their services. Due to the defendants' alleged calls, she claims that she felt harassed, annoyed and inconvenienced. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly contacting her using an automated telephone dialing system and/or an artificial or pre-recorded voice even after she allegedly asked them to stop calling.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages of $500 for each call, treble damages of $1,500, litigation costs and any other just and proper relief. She is represented by Jody B. Burton of Lemberg Law LLC in Wilton, Conn.
