Thomas Publishing allegedly fired employee for exercising FMLA-protected rights

Wrongful term 10

PHILADELPHIA — An individual is suing his former employer, Thomas Publishing, for alleged disability discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination.

Michael Salone filed a complaint on April 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendant violated the Family and Medical Leave Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was fired for allegedly exercising his rights under the FMLA by requesting a leave of absence and a reduced work schedule because of his disabilities. As a result, the plaintiff claims that he has suffered financial damages, embarrassment, mental anguish and harm to his reputation. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly firing him in retaliation for exercising his rights under the FMLA.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, liquidated damages, costs, attorney's fees and any other just and proper relief. He is represented by Antony Giletto of Kraemer Manes & Associates LLC in Philadelphia.
